 Sneakerhead Match Collection

Sneakerhead subculture emerged in America in the late 1980s and by the end of the 1990s reached global status. The term Sneakerhead derived from the act of collecting, trading, and admiring sneakers as a hobby. Birth of the Sneakerhead culture can be attributed to 2 major sources, Basketball and hiphop. Michael Jordan’s emergence in the NBA and the release of the Jordan lines signature shoe in 1985, fueled a boom in sneaker collecting. Hip hop also played a big role in establishing street credit to brands like Nike and Adidas with more collaborations between sneaker brands and artist than ever before.
